Reece Forrester MA, LMFT

Initially, I sought a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy to focus on work with couples. My passion is in helping couples (re)discover their best relationship. Over time, I've found that I also love working with trauma and/or couples with trauma as well. I have extensive experience working with chemically addicted clients to address the underlying mental health concerns that contribute to addictive patterns. While I specialize in trauma and couple counseling, I also work with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and mood disorders, among others.

Throughout my career, I have continually been amazed by the resiliency within the clients I've served. People survive through incredible circumstances and find a way to persevere. I believe that many maladaptive patterns and behaviors were useful at one time but have outlived their usefulness. If we can address the pain, trauma, and abuse that created the original patterns we become better equipped to change those maladaptive patterns. I love working with clients who are willing to dig in to address the root of the problem.

I graduated with a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University in 2009. My work history includes inpatient mental health, home based services, crisis intervention, and outpatient mental health. As an outpatient therapist, I partnered with Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge, working with chemically addicted clients to address the underlying mental health concerns before transitioning into a site manager role in my clinic. I have 8 years of experience in clinic management.

I've been married to my amazing and supportive wife for 18 years. We're incredibly proud of our 5 year old daughter, who continues to astound us with all that she is learning and accomplishing. When I'm not working I love all things nerdy, whether that be collecting comic books, playing board games, D&D with friends, or watching the latest sci-fi series. I'm an occasional runner, an outdoor lover, and an aspiring gardener.
